About Tropical
This is the smallest group here and the most saturated. Teal runs through nearly all of it, deep teal as often as the lighter kind, which is what shallow warm water over sand actually looks like once you stop expecting turquoise.
Palms are a discipline. Painted leaf by leaf they die on the canvas, so they are put down as whole shapes in a few strokes and left, and the picture keeps the movement that careful work would have taken out of it.
These are the brightest paintings in the catalog and they need a wall that can take it. In a muted room, one is plenty. They do well somewhere with a lot of daylight, which is unusual, because most oil work prefers softer light. Black frames suit them, giving the color something firm to stop against.
